Mummy loves...

One of the things I love to do most (but do not claim to be an expert at, by any stretch of the imagination), is take photos of my family.

I mostly whip out my iphone 4s to snap away at home and when we're out and about, purely because its convenient and relatively easy to take some pretty good photos, for a photography newbie like me.

My lovely hubby did buy me a posh camera (a Panasonic Lumix, for anyone that's interested) for my birthday a couple of years ago. I get this out every so often and have managed to take some fairly decent photos with it, but is it just me or do they make camera instruction manuals unfathomably complicated!? So, its been a case of figuring it out as I go really... but I still have no idea what half the functions, buttons and knobs do.

I also really enjoy photo editing. By photo editing I mean a quick dabble with the filters on Instagram and iPhoto! Again, I have a lot to learn... I have however recently downloaded Pixelmator (a much cheaper alternative to Photoshop, if the reviews are to be believed). So far I've enjoyed fiddling about with it and (trying) to teach myself how to edit my snaps.

Today I managed, between bambeanie feeds, to create the photo below. I can't claim credit for the idea (thanks Pinterest!) but I'm really pleased with the result.

Photography, is something I'd love to learn more about and I'm determined to try and master my 'posh camera'. Preferably while I have a beanie that's too little to complain / run off / pull faces when I take photos of him!
