Day 2 | Favourite things to do with your family on a rainy day
Apart from an hour or so watching TV or playing a video game, there are a number of failsafe indoor activities that never fail to entertain my beanies.
* Baking
I love to bake and my daughter loves nothing more than to 'help' me :) We're big cupcake fans in this house and regularly get out our trusty Primrose Bakery book to whip up a batch. The book also has an amazing recipe for cinnamon buns which are fun for kids to make as you have to knead and roll the dough. Edible play doh!

Good old Lego. What would we do without it? Always one of the first things we pull out of the toy cupboard on a rainy day. Dylan is so creative and builds some amazing things. I love to see him using his imagination to build spaceships, houses and his favourite characters.
* A carpet picnic
We used to do this a lot when the beanies were smaller, but they still enjoy it now. They invite all their favourite toys and prepare a delicious spread in their toy kitchen before eating their own lunch alongside them. A carpet picnic is usually followed by some sort of dance party or gymnastics display!
* Build a den
We haven't done this for a while actually and writing this blog post has made me want to get out the spare sheets and make a teepee for the kids to play in. Whenever we've made a den on a rainy day, the kids have spent most of the day playing in it with their toys and even want to eat their meals in there. A great way to fill an otherwise uneventful day!
