School's out | my tips for a stress-free summer holiday

Friday, 22 July 2016

I love having the kids at home with me over summer. No school run. No after-school club rush. No uniform and kit on constant rotation in the washing machine. And it's nice to have their company every day. Even if it's accompanied by the odd sibling battle over the remote and having to lock myself in the garage for a nano-second alone with my own thoughts!

Having said all that, there are a few things I like to stick to over the school holidays which just help to make things a little less... stressful.

What are your school holiday tips? Please share them below, I'd love to know :)

  1. Great tips. We are planning to try to get out everyday! Hopefully that stops them bickering a bit!

  2. Erm, firstly - bit jealous of that beach. You lucky lot!

Great tips here - my daughter is only two but a lot of this still applies. All of our usual toddler groups stop running for the summer so we often find ourselves at a loose end. Planning is v. important and I need to put a few more things in the diary otherwise I could be in for a long 6 weeks!

Oh, I've subscribed to your YT channel too. :)

  4. We generally do everything spontaneous. That's all you can do in Ireland anyway. Because the weather is so changeable.

  5. Well I work most of the holidays so I don't really have to think of much for my daughter to do! But I'd say maybe have a few rainy day ideas up your sleeve for emergencies! ;)
